Alfonso Amato, MBA, PT; President

Alfonso L. Amato has a BS in Physical Therapy and a MBA, both from St. Louis University.

Al has over thirty years experience as a Physical Therapist. He started the first Physical Therapy private practice in the St. Louis area. His company became the largest local provider of outpatient and contract services before being sold to a national company. As a vice president of professional affairs of the national company, and manager of the Missouri operations, Al continued to grow the local company and influence product development and quality care issues for the national company.

Professional growth and commitment to the development of the Physical Therapy profession has been a constant motivator in his activities. Al has been active in the APTA, both locally and nationally, and has held numerous offices and appointments. Al has received several service awards from these organizations. He has taught orthopedic physical therapy, management, marketing and administration in seminars and at physical therapy schools. He purchased FOTO from the founding group and started FOTO as a private outcomes management and reporting company, in 1994.

Al serves FOTO as president.

Al Amato continues to be active in the development and management of outpatient and contract rehabilitation services. These activities have resulted in the creation of over 50 facilities in hospitals, nursing homes, home health, industry based rehab clinics and freestanding outpatient clinics.
