"We were at risk of being knocked out of the market if we did not find a way to be valuable to an ACO/ACO like organizations." This real life risk was shared by by Dan Fleury, PT, DPT, OCS. Vice President, Pinnacle Rehabilitation Network, LLC (PRN). Dan will be presenting in FOTO's upcoming Outcomes Conference in April.
It was refreshing for me to hear that we will have a session on this particular topic. Online I hear how outcomes don't matter. I hear what we measure doesn't matter. Guess what? Dan will be sharing how much outcomes do matter. I'm excited to hear how someone is taking data and using the data to improve not just the clinical side of practice, but also the business side of practice. From my interpretation of his quote, outcomes data was the solution for eliminating extinction. Dan reflects, "The most frustrating part was being independent and a fierce competitor of the ACO/ACO like organizations I was trying to be included in!"
Is a huge network required to create change? Based on what I learned from the PRN website, I say no. PRN is not a national network. PRN is predominantly in the New England area. PRN partners with about 25 companies.
Dan will highlight three main points:
A real world example of how outcomes data reduced a barrier and gained entry into ACO and ACO like organizations
How to optimize the use of outcome data to positively impact reimbursement
Uncover what really matters to ACOs and ACO like organizations
The conference is in Knoxville, TN from April 15th - 17th, 2016. The Dogwood Festival is concurrently happening in Knoxville. This means the hotel will fill up quickly. Definitely reserve your room now.
Until next time,
