I recently shared my light bulb realization of the value of physical therapists over on EIM's blog.
The current calculations determined in paying for services are not appropriate.
The most recent literature on lumbar stenosis has perked interest across the nation. How does this sit with you?
To see an outcome like this makes you pause and think right? Both treatment options reached basically the same outcome. So, then.... I just had to ask:
So, if David is correct, as we negotiate an acceptable alternative payment model, we need to keep the piling evidence of our value in mind. We need to negotiate at a level that a payer sees a much larger slice of the pie going to physical therapists. Physical therapists could easily receive $40,000 per case for individuals with spinal stenosis. Physical therapists obtain the same outcome right?
Until next time,
