Information Technology and Enhancing Care Outcomes: Part I
We've been in the information technology business since 1994. At that time, information technology and care outcomes were not popular in either the health care industry nor the rehabilitative world. We continue to elevate our standards, improve our measurement processes and analyze aggregated rehabilitative outcome data. We are the standard in measuring rehabilitation outcomes. We support payers in their quality initiatives and payment models that focus on value versus volume.
National Perspective on Evolving and Emerging Healthcare Delivery and Payment Models
Farzad Mostashari leads this session. Although he will not be focusing on the rehabilitation industry, the same theme is occuring in the rehabilitation world: models that reward value over volume. Our system readily captures care outcomes to determine value.

Measurement Development, Specifications and Implementation
This session will bring back memories for FOTO Team. We've been there and done that - and we haven't stopped. We have defined the standard for measuring quality in the rehabilitation industry.

Technologies Needed to Support the Payer, Provider and Patient Associated with New Care and Payment Models (Current and Future)
Shafic Rab, MD, MPH and Paul Oates, FHIMSS will be sharing the required resources for not only altering a patient's care experience, but also for pushing and pulling data between systems/organizations for payment models. Our experience with third party payers has the same level of frustration. In order to move from a volume based payment model to a value based model, claims data is not enough to tell the whole story in the rehabilitation world. Clinicians only have their own episode of care data and don't know the whole story on their value without access to claims data. Claims do not include the clinical change that occurs with rehabilitation services.
Although we know not everyone will be in attendance for the preconference symposia, the topics of these sessions resonated with us. If you happen to be in attendance this year and are interested in ways to incorporate a payment model for rehabilitation services that focuses on value, please stop by booth 7664 in the new exhibitor section. We love talking about outcomes and quality focused payment models! If you aren't in attendance OR are too crazy busy to stop by, no worries, fill out this information and we'll reach out to you!
